Most of the time, Magicians requires assistence from the audience, usually to pick a card. The most common phase they'll use is, "Pick a card, any card", and the audience will pick a card from the deck. Flourishes are the presentation of the deck of cards, when one or more cards are to be chosen from the deck. It is so called the 'opening scene' because that is usually the way a trick begins.

There are many ways of flourishes, but what will be featured here will be 2 of the most basic ones, the Basic fan and the Pressure fan. Fans are a great way of presenting your cards to the audience, it's simple, it's easy and it never goes wrong, most importantly, it looks GOOD!!
